The AIMS of the Association To maintain a National Register of Practising Hypnotherapists, Psychotherapists and Counsellors. To accept into Membership those members from the Register who can demonstrate the required competence and experience for membership entitlement. To monitor and provide opportunities for Continuous Professional Development. To operate a self-regulatory body for Hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and Counselling. Including Code of ethics and practice, disciplinary procedure, equal opportunities policy and complaints procedure. To print and publish information promoting hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and associated techniques. To issue membership certificates and make available Professional Liability Insurance for members. To monitor the standards of ACHPC accredited schools, checking that students who achieve the awards are meeting a consistently high standard of theoretical knowledge, a competent and proficient level of technical Skills, practice management awareness and that the School is working under the ACHPC Code of ethics and to the National Occupational Standards for Hypnotherapy and/or with BACP criteria (counselling).
